Major Case Assistance Team Training
Recently, I was honored to spend a day training some of the best and brightest Investigators in the Chicagoland area. This group of 51 attended a day of training on the Topic of Criminal Profiling. I have been lecturing and training in this area since 1992. I would like to thank MCAT Director Nate, Sgt. Rick and Bob from the County for putting this together and allowing me to work with a great group of men and women. May all of them stay safe in their pursuits!

From Chicago's original gangsters to the Outfit's decline in recent years, Dr. Wayne Johnson is well-versed in the organized crime that long ensnared the city. After 25 years with the Chicago Police Department - his last assignment supervising a unit within the Organized Crime Division - Johnson was appointed Chief Investigator for the renowned Chicago Crime Commission.
Now coordinator of Harper College's law enforcement programs and widely considered a top authority on organized crime, Johnson has written A History of Violence: An Encyclopedia of 1,400 Chicago Mob Murders. The 300-plus page tome is the product of painstaking research into newspaper articles, police reports, coroners' reports and other archives over a 14-year period.
This event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Wayne Johnson, a retired member of the Chicago Police Department and expert on the Chicago Mob, will present an Author’s Talk on A History of Violence: An Encyclopedia of 1400 Chicago Mob Murders at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 13, with book signing to follow. Johnson ended his 25-year career with the Chicago Police Department as supervisor of the Analytical Unit of the Intelligence Section, Organized Crime Division. He also served as Chief Investigator for the legendary Chicago Crime Commission monitoring the Chicago Mob as well as the first and only Superintendent of Police/Inspector General for Cicero, Ill.
He is a nationally recognized investigative and educational consultant for law enforcement and the security industry and is widely considered to be one of the nation’s leading authorities on Chicago Organized Crime. Johnson has lectured extensively on organized crime, homicide investigations, criminal profiling, violence in the workplace and gang crimes. He has been interviewed as an authority for numerous television specials on organized crime including a Biography Channel program on Mob boss Anthony Accardo.
Johnson has authored and co-authored articles in law enforcement and education, most notably a Chicago Crime Commission groundbreaking report on organized crime. Johnson earned his Doctor of Education degree from Northern Illinois University and Master of Science degree in Criminal-Social Justice from Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill. He serves as an associate professor and program coordinator of law enforcement programs at Harper College in Palatine, Ill
