About Dr. Johnson

Dr. Wayne A. Johnson served asa member of the Chicago Police Department (retired) for 25 years with distinction. In his last assignment he supervised the Analytical Unit of the Intelligence Section, Organized Crime Division where he furthered his knowledge of The Chicago Mob.

Wayne’s notable work with the Intelligence Section led him to his next appointment as Chief Investigator for the legendary Chicago Crime Commission, holding the position originally createdby the much celebrated organized crime investigator, Virgil Peterson.

During five years at the helm as Chief Investigator he investigated and monitored The Chicago Mob. The national notoriety Wayne received as the Crime Commission's investigator led to his recruitment as the first and only Superintendent of Police/InspectorGeneral for the Town of Cicero, Illinois.

Mr. Johnson earned his Doctorof Education degree from Northern Illinois University, and Master of Science degree in Criminal-Social Justice from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. He serves as an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of LawEnforcement Programs at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois.

Wayne is also a nationallyrecognized investigative and educational consultant for law enforcement and the security industry and is widely considered to be one of the nation’s leading authorities on Organized Crime.

Dr. Johnson has lectured extensively on Organized Crime, Homicide Investigations, Criminal Profiling, Violence in the Workplace and Gang Crimes. He has been interviewed as anauthority for numerous television specials on organized crime including the BiographyChannel’s in depth program on Mob Boss Anthony Accardo. He has authored and co-authored articles in Law Enforcement and Education, most notably the Chicago Crime Commission’s ground breaking Organized Crime Report "The New Faces of Organized Crime".
